The orphanage (Education Organization for Orphans and Handicapped Children - EOOHC) was established in 1992 by Dr. Tad Veskateswarlu, University of Windsor, Canada, with his own resources. The school provides basic needs : room and board, health care, emotional support. The children learn both academic and vocational subjects. They are taught human values - respect, tolerance - all the more important as they come from different religious backgrounds.
The children can practice yoga, classical dance and traditional songs : an opening to Indian culture.
They also have the option of training in carpentry, chalk making, tailoring, embroidery.
Students who have graduated (60% of them are females) have either joined in undergraduate programs in mechanics, computer science and nursing in local colleges or found jobs in the Tenali municipal offices and private small business companies in Andhra Pradesh. Some have registered for graduate programs in business and commerce at universities and postgraduate institutes in India.
